EXTERNAL DESCRIPTION
Villa del Marchese is a magnificent historical residence, located in the countryside of Malmantile, in the Florentine Chianti area, and only 18 km from Florence.
Dating back to the year 1000, over the centuries, the villa had the most important and noble Florentine families as its owners. The first owners of the villa were the Pazzi (Florentine family) who used it as a summer residence. Afterwards it was the turn of Frescobaldi (another noble Florentine family that has been produced for centuries the most prestigious Tuscan red and white wines). In modern times the villa has passed to Fucini (family of poets and great geologists) and currently belongs to Dorin, another important Florentine family.
Surrounded by a large wooded park with centuries-old trees, the property features an Italian-style garden, a gazebo with a dining table for 18 people and a small covered pergola that serves as a lounge area, perfect to relax alfresco while sipping a glass of wine.
At guests’ disposal also a barbecue area to cook tasty grills, and a delightful swimming pool (15 meters long), equipped with parasol, sunbeds, deck chairs and a portable toilet.
The villa is the ideal location to host weddings and other types of events, thanks to its large outdoor and indoor areas that allow you to organize lunches with barbecue or dinners at the cool cellar, meeting any cyustomer’s needs. DESTINATIONS
Villa del Marchese is nestled in the green countryside of Malmantile, in the Florentine Chianti area, and only 18 km from Florence.
It boasts a strategic location: the proximity to the main roads and highways allows you to reach, in a short time, the main cities of Tuscany and the wonderful area of Chianti Classico. The latter is known worldwide for the prestigious wine to which it gives birth (the typical mark of the Gallo Nero) and for its evocative sceneries and charming villages which are along the “Via Chiantigiana”, from the nearby Greve to Panzano, from Castellina to Radda.
Moreover, there are some ancient Tuscan villages, little pearls of the surrounding area, easily accessible by car such as:
- San Miniato (24 km), historic Napoleone Bonaparte's destination during his Italian Campaign, renowned for its white truffles;
- Vinci (28 km) is the birthplace of Leonardo, the famous Italian painter, engineer and scientist;
- Certaldo Alta (30 km), a medieval village where the Italian writer and poet Giovanni Boccaccio lived;
- San Gimignano (40 km) is set on a hill and is characterized by its beautiful towers and for Vernaccia (famous Tuscan white wine, the first Italian wine to receive the mark of DOC, Controlled Designation of Origin, in 1966);
- Volterra (60 km), a famous Etruscan city with its walls and museum.
Lastly, there is a curiosity to know which concerns the village of Malmantile: every year, in the period of May-June, is held a genuine medieval feast with clashes between horsemen and archers, tricks and costume parades and more.
